The whole idea is to get OUT of town and the heat not hang around it on the long weekends. It's a tradition with my family to head north and we had already started the process to do it again this year since you and I had talked about it a few times. Within the 13,500 acre area, portions will have use restricted to a relatively dense network of designated routes which will be identified at a later date. Management emphasis is for the use of 2-, 3-, and 4-wheel vehicles. Oh well I am sure there will be another group going up on Mem Weekend to go with. Approximately 13,500 acres in the Cinder Hills has been designated for off-highway vehicle recreation.

I wonder if the night drags at play hill will be going on the weekend after Mem Weekend? It seemed like a ghost town up there when we left late Monday afternoon last year. I have nothing to judge it by other than people go to these types of places by the droves but I doubt there will be anywhere near the crowds the weekend after. 😉 There are so many kick ass trails in that area. but I think the main reason to go to the Cinders is to. Thats cool that those dates work for you guys. Do stuff locally with your family on Mem Day Weekend and then head north to the cool pines for the big fun with us.Brett, you would love the singletrack (Challenger Trail) up there. Even on a non holiday weekend, there will still be 100's hanging around and riding. Well, Tom Fox and I have talked about the dates and these work best for us. Plent of time to plan, and I PERSONALLY guarantee you will enjoy it. Harry,Woody, Bill, you guys that don't usually get involved in these "far away" trips, think about it. I can not think of anything more to add but this: (Actually, we may all end up motelling it, which may be a good thing) Even new ROCKSTAR members are welcome(for a limited time only). If ya don't like camping, bring a toy hauler or get a motel.
CINDERS FLAGSTAFF AZ PORTABLE
Portable shower/shitter and even mints on your satin pillows at night. We will most likely be camping, and I have all you need for comfort(well, almost). I am posting this now so YOU ALL have plenty of time to himm and haw and straddle the fence before committing to having a GREAT time. Bring a paddle tire and a knobby, we may take a 1/2 a day or two and hit some SWEET singletrack.(7,000 to 9,000 feet) We did this last year and had a ball. Ride FRI,SAT,and SUN, and we will return home SUN eve. Tom Fox and I will be going up Thurs the 29th of May in the evening. If you have never been there, you do not know what you are missing. LESS crowds, LESS traffic, LESS dust, MORE FUN.
